About Us

Since its opening in 1895, the Orillia Opera House has been a focal point for the cultural life of the City of Orillia. The only professional quality performing arts venue in the town, it sits in the heart of downtown Orillia on Mississaga Street and West Street.

City-owned and operated, the Orillia Opera House exists to serve the performing arts needs of the residents of Orillia and beyond. As a production company, the OOH produces live professional theatre during the summer and presents concerts and educational programming throughout the year.

The Orillia Opera House operates 12 months of the year, welcoming guest rentals from professional touring production companies and talented community groups, including the Orillia Concert Association, Mariposa Theatre Arts Foundation, and the Orillia Silver Band.

The Orillia Opera House is a division of the Business Development, Culture and Tourism of the Corporation of the City of Orillia. Thanks to the support of the Canadian Heritage and a number of generous sponsors, the Orillia Opera House continues to offer top quality, live music, and theatre that is local, national, and international in scope.
