The Producers Welcome Back! Laughter, is the best medicine!

Just over one year ago, LaughOutLoud at the Opera House was really nothing more than a small group of very hopeful and enthusiastic …(dare I say naive) people who believed that Live Theatre still holds a special place in the heart of a community.

In difficult times, when anything and everything needs to meet a bottom line, conform to an agenda, have a proven track record, and answer to many voices, somehow, it seemed that our little company could never hold it's own. But, this is where magic comes in!  What is the measure of success?   A hundred, a thousand perhaps? Well in our case it was 4000 smiling faces who walked through the Opera House doors and later took a small part of LaughOutLoud home with them. To all of you, we take a bow.  Because of you, there is “season two” and we take our responsibility to deliver comedy … seriously.

We are also extremely proud to present two Canadian pieces this season.  As a country we are always reluctant to blow our horns, but artistically, we have so many reasons to do so.  It's time to get in touch with our inner Godzilla as Cathy Elliot teaches us in Moving Day, and let loose!  Michelle Riml and Joe Dipietro examine “life in the love lane” Sexy Laundry, and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, and since  we are fans of killer clever writing, Thumbs will prove to be a whodunnit that leaves you breathless! Come discover Orillia, a short hour and a half North of  “the city” in the heart of Ontario's Lake Country.  If you think you know us, you probably haven't been here lately. Oh, and this summer, don't be afraid to LaughOutLoud at the Orillia Opera House!  It's good for your soul.
