Presented by Little Red Theatre
Date: December 7th, 2011 SORRY SOLD OUT
Time: 10:30 am
Price: $7.50 each (1 adult Free for every 10 students)
Grades: Primary Grades
Hans Christian Andersen’s genius lies in the fact that he has something vital to convey to children and adults alike. His writings contain universal truths about human nature and psychology, crucial to the development of every individual. The Snow Queen is one of his “epic” stories, teaching a poetic lesson in the power of faith. The mystery of Hans Christian Andersen is that often in his stories he tells about life from a feminine point of view. He feels the compassion and the longing of Gerda, our heroine, and our tale follows her along her journey to find her lost friend Kai. The play “The Snow Queen” is a wonderful story of friendship and sacrifice. Follow the young heroine Gerda as she attempts to rescue her dearest friend Kai from a life of selfishness and lack of compassion. Filled with music and beautiful costumes, this colourful presentation will delight all ages.

Morro and Jasp GO GREEN
Presented by: Up Your Nose and In Your Toes Productions
Date: Wednesday, April 18th, 2012
Time: 10:30 am
Price: $7.50 each (1 adult Free for every 10 students)
Grades: Primary
Jasp has written a book about ‘going green’ and today is the day of her big book launch. She is finally going to become a famous author. There is only one problem: she doesn’t really know anything about what ‘going green’ really means.
When her sister Morro jumps in, the two decide that they need the help of Dr. David Suzuki. A letter from him soon arrives and the clown duo embarks on a journey to reduce their ecological footprint. Together, they struggle to learn how they can make changes in their daily lives and that, although not always easy, being environmentally friendly is certainly important and curiously rewarding.
This interactive and humorous look at being environmentally friendly turns assumptions about being green on their heads and teaches us that every little bit does in fact make a difference. Seen through the eyes of loveable and laughable clowns, the messages hit home and become accessible like never before. |
