Matt

Matt Andersen
& The Bona Fide

with special guest Donovan Woods
Touring in support of his new release Honest Man

Produced by:
Shantero Productions

A powerhouse performer, Matt Andersen’s “fingers sail over his acoustic guitar strings with the speed and grace of a hummingbird,” he has a giant yet soul-filled and passionate voice, and a commanding stage presence.  In a word, Andersen is awesome!  With over 5 million views on YouTube, independent album sales topping 30,000, a European Blues Award, Maple Blues Awards and Best Solo Performer at the Memphis Blues Challenge, Andersen’s worldwide fan base shows no signs of slowing down.

Since the release of Weightless in early 2014, Andersen has received a Juno nomination for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year, A CIMA Road Gold award, and a Maple Blues Award for male Vocalist of the Year.  His ninth full-length album is set for release in early 2016.

Supporting the release of Honest Man, Andersen will take to the road for four months through North America and joining him on the Canadian dates will be another JUNO Award nominated songwriter, Donovan Woods.  No stranger to each other, the Toronto artist and Andersen penned two tracks together for Honest Man including the album closer “One Good Song.”

Fans can continue to depend on Andersen delivering the electrifying, jaw-dropping shows which have traditionally given rise to spontaneous mid-set standing ovations.  The London Times says, “Canada’s greatest guitarist made one acoustic guitar sound like a fully staffed band.  Outrageous skill and contagious joy!”  But, perhaps his shows are best summed up by a reviewer for exclaim.ca who writes: “It’s rare to see someone so accomplished make something look like it could be so effortless, but between his voice, his guitar work and his song writing talents, Andersen pulls it off,”…and that sums up a Matt Andersen concert perfectly!

Dada

Dada

Produced by: L'Aubergine

Leopold Minute, a clockmaker by profession, has been repairing, adjusting and reconditioning watches, clocks and alarm clocks for his customers for several years. Split between his passion and his pastime, for but a few seconds Leopold is hypnotized and rocked to sleep by the ticking sounds in his shop.

He is a shy, detailed and meticulous man who becomes lost in a daydream. He is then suddenly filled with a sweet insanity that he expresses through dance, juggling and acrobatics.

Guided by his extraordinary conscience and his musicality, Leopold possesses and exceptional background on which to develop his own personal rhythmic style. Stunned by his ever-present conscience, he is torn between his shyness and his desire to take risks, between the twirls of the accordion and the softness of the cello.

Share these moments of bewildering entertainment. You will be intrigued! What exactly is Leopold’s pastime?

Last of the Red Hot Lovers
Produced by: Orillia Opera House

Neil Simon’s funniest comedy!  The story of a middle-aged restauranteur desperately trying to add a little spice to his life, this period is like Mad  Men, only our ‘Don Draper’ is a total klutz. The play opened on Broadway at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre on December 28, 1969 and closed on September 4, 1971 after 706 performances and six previews.

“Mr. Simon has created a great character here…it is extraordinarily funny and yet also charming…as witty as ever, perhaps wittier.” – The New York Times

“Delightfully hilarious and witty, as well as filled with wisdom about human nature…an uproariously funny author.  But he is far more than that.  He has a mellow and compassionate understanding of how weak and essentially well-meaning mankind behaves…a genuinely brilliant play.” New Your Post

Dean & Jerry...
What Might Have Been

Produced by: Orillia Opera House

Opera House favourite Derek Marshall returns with a concert of hits and bits from the most famous comedy team of the 50’s…Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis.  What if they had never split.

Martin and Lewis were an American comedy duo, comprising singer Dean Martin and comedian Jerry Lewis.  They met in 1945 and debuted at Atlantic City’s 500 club on July 25, 1946; the team lasted ten years to the day.

“Over the course of their 10-year partnership, Lewis and Dean Martin made 16 wildly popular movies (they were the world’s number one box office earners from 1950 to 1956), but their real strength was their performances in nightclubs, theaters, and on television.  Audiences found their mixture of music and ad-libbed, irreverent comedic pandemonium intoxicating.” Publisher’s Weekly
